Resident Evil 2 for PlayStation shipped on two CDs. An invisible mesh creates the boundaries of the 3D space, ensuring that the characters sit correctly within the environments, while moving through the levels is achieved simply by flipping from one screen to the next once you hit the boundary - there's no scrolling here.īut what sounds simple in theory becomes massively more complex when you look at the implementation. After all, at the nuts and bolts level, the action consists of fairly simple 3D characters and objects overlaid on a series of pre-rendered 2D backdrops. On the face of it, an N64 conversion of Resident Evil 2 shouldn't be a problem. It aimed to overcome the N64's most profound limitations, delivering an uncannily accurate port of the original PlayStation release. But when it came to the N64 port of Resident Evil 2, Angel Studios - now Rockstar San Diego - went for a different approach. Direct ports to other systems rarely worked owing to massive hardware differences, with some developers opting to create entirely new games instead. Titles used to launch on bespoke arcade platforms before being ported to home consoles, and when hardware like the original PlayStation arrived, titles were specifically built around its strengths. The game will launch on 24th March, 2023.With game-makers and publishers building almost all of their games with multiple console platforms in mind, it's worth remembering that things used to be very, very different. This new content will arrive on 28th October, 2022.Ĭontinuing the theme of remakes however, Resident Evil 4 has finally been officially confirmed. Resident Evil Village will receive it’s long-awaited DLC: The Winters’ Expansion. In addition to the Resident Evil 2, Resident Evil 3 and Resident Evil 7 biohazard PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S upgrades, Capcom has been sharing more on what is in the pipeline for the series. Resident Evil PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S & PC Future Releases PC patches for all three titles arrive today as well. PlayStation 4 and Xbox One players can upgrade at no additional cost via the digital upgrade program and Smart Delivery. PlayStation 5 gamers also receive DualSense haptic feedback and adaptive trigger support. All three of the games now support 4K resolution, ray tracing, higher frame rates, and 3D audio. The Resident Evil 2 remake however, is still proving popular years after release.įrom today, gamers on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S can now enjoy all three of these titles enhanced visual performance. Both were well received, though Resident Evil 3 less so due to its relatively short duration. Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3 are remakes of their ’90s PlayStation original titles. Resident Evil 7 biohazard launched back in 2017, and redefined the series as a first-person experience. Those updates are now available worldwide, and are free to anyone who owns a copy of the original games. Earlier this year, Capcom promised gamers that the popular Resident Evil 2, Resident Evil 3 and Resident Evil 7 biohazard games would receive updates to take advantage of the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S consoles.

Last year, the Korea Creative Content Agency released a poll announcing the most popular Korean TV shows of all-time to be: “Jewel in the Palace,” “Winter Sonata,” “My Love From the Star,” “Autumn in My Heart” and reality TV show “Running Man” - all of which had tremendous followings outside the peninsula.įor some international K-drama fans, their love affair with shows can be traced back over years, with TV productions that are to this day widely considered to be some of the pillars of the local drama industry. However, along with the rise of newer and more popular K-drama series, classic dramas from years ago are still proving to be some of the biggest driving forces behind the popularity of locally produced shows, especially among international fans. With much thanks to online video streaming sites such as DramaFever - a video streaming website owned by Warner Bros that offers on-demand streaming of mostly movies and TV shows with subtitles - and Netflix, which recently established its presence in Korea, both newer and older K-dramas are continuing to seep onto TV and computer screens throughout the world.Īccording to the Contents Power Index, which is measured by the number of searches on search engines and follower rankings of the TV shows that air on major broadcasting networks, the country’s three highest ranking shows of last year were KBS2’s “The Producers” - no surprise considering it stars hallyu power king Kim Soo-hyun - followed by SBS’ “The Girl Who Sees Smells” and “Pinocchio.”įollowing the tremendous success of “My Love From the Star,” particularly in China, Kim’s follow-up TV drama “The Producers,” which was considered the country’s first-ever “variety drama,” went on to sell its broadcasting rights in China for more than $2.4 million. The growing Korean TV drama fever has led to the establishment of “Hallyu Tours.” There are now several published guides that map out the filming locations of popular TV shows such as “My Love From the Star,” “We Got Married,” “The Heirs,” “Doctor Stranger” and “Running Man.” Dramafever vs Viki vs Viu vs DarkSmurf etc.) on r/KDRAMA in the past.A handful of local dramas have enjoyed so much popularity around the world, especially Asia, that they have been credited with enticing viewers to travel to Korea to see the culture and filming locations firsthand. But there have been discussions about various different sub sources (i.e. You didn't mention the source of the subtitles that you're using, so I can't really speak on the general quality of those. Tbh, I think it's likely that the translator didn't even use a dictionary for this, because if they had they would have realized that the full term 연쇄 살인범 is always translated as serial killer. Both things happen all all the time when translating, even when someone has a great command of both languages. Ideally, you should pick the translation that is most fit for the context, but my guess is that the translator either didn't know about the "right" English term or that they just had a brain fart and couldn't remember it. The English term serial killer is a coined term and the Korean term for it is 연쇄 살인범 (= "chain murderer".) When you look up the individual dictionary entries for the words used in that term ( #1, #2), you will see that there are various ways you can translate those words back into English. I don't know if you have experience with learning languages, but often, you can not translate things 1:1 between two languages. :) Both things essentially mean the same thing: chain = a series of connected elements killer = murderer. Reeves, columnist for The American School Board Journal and William H. While some professors have followed the lead of City University of New York’s Cathy Davidson, replacing the traditional term paper with shorter, more frequent blog assignments, their detractors-including Douglas B. Term Papers,” Matt Richtel reports on the debate in higher education on how best to teach writing in the digital age. Here is the summary that I wrote in my notebook after I read Matt Richtel’s article. Summary and AnalysisĪ summary objectively presents key points it answers the question, what is it? An analysis answers the questions, what does it mean, and how is its meaning constructed? As the authors of your textbook note: “You will almost invariably begin to interpret a source once you start paraphrasing its key language” (Rosenwasser and Stephen 221). I could have asked you to quote Reeves, Fitzhugh, and Lunsford, but putting their ideas into your own words requires more thought, and more specifically moves you closer to analysis. Now at the City University of New York, she continues to embrace new technologies. Davidson turned to blogs to offer students a more relevant alternative to the traditional term paper (ctd. One option is an explanatory endnote you can also include it in the sentence itself, as I do in the example that follows.Įxample: As a professor at Duke, Cathy N. One student asked how a writer should address such a change. In our discussion of Richtel’s article, I noted that Davidson was a professor at Duke at the time the article was published in The New York Times. Both a paraphrase of Davidson’s words drawn from Richtel’s article, and a direct quotation of her words drawn from Richtel’s article are referred to as indirect quotations because Davidson is a source who is cited or quoted in another source (Richtel). If I had quoted Davidson, rather than paraphrasing her, the abbreviation “qtd.,” for “quoted,” would appear in parentheses to indicate that I quoted Davidson. The abbreviation “ctd.” lets readers know that the idea is cited, or mentioned, in Matt Richtel’s article. Davidson of the City University of New York maintains that blogging offers students a more relevant alternative to the traditional term paper (ctd. As a model, I offered the example below.Įxample: Professor Cathy N. Collaboratively, you paraphrased each idea in a sentence that began with the person’s name and credential. For a night out, take cues from Rita Ora and sport all black to create a cool monochromatic ensemble. Wedges are cute summer sandals and happen to be a popular warm-weather footwear choice among celebrities, because they’re incredibly versatile and easy to style. “Most people prefer wedges for office presentations, exhibitions, weddings and vacations, because you get that graceful elongated leg without the pain of traditional heels,” she notes. The pro also calls wedge sandals a preferable choice for occasions where you may have to stand or walk for long periods of time. “In a wedge, the heel is elevated but the outsole is a continuous solid platform, which allows for increased ankle stability and even weight distribution,” she says. Silicon Valley-based podiatrist Najwa Javed explains that a wedge is especially superior to a high-heeled stiletto. However, unlike a lot of flip-flops and slides (which tend to have little arch support), wedges can actually be a great choice for promoting proper foot health. There are a ton of open-toed styles available, and we don’t blame you for always reaching for your favorite flat silhouettes. One feature I don't cover is OneNote's Class Notebook (Opens in a new window) tools. Parents can follow these same guidelines to organize notes for children too young to do so themselves. Whether you use an old or different version of OneNote a different note-taking app, such as Evernote or Bear or whatever solution your office suite provides, you can apply many of the same organization strategies I discuss below. Note that you can download a free version of OneNote (Opens in a new window) that does not require a Microsoft subscription, but that app lacks some features of the for-pay version. I picked OneNote-specifically the OneNote for Windows 10 app, which requires a Microsoft 365 account-for this guide because it's cross-platform, flexible, supports many input types (such as touch, handwriting, and stylus), and syncs to an excellent cloud storage service (OneDrive). Why Choose OneNote for a Paper Notebook Replacement? A digital note-taking app doesn't suffer from any of these constraints. For example, traditional notebooks are susceptible to damage and loss, make it difficult to find specific notes, and have a finite and fixed number of pages. I grew up taking school notes by pen or pencil in physical notebooks and enjoyed the manual process, but there's no doubt that more modern digital note-taking solutions offer clear advantages over the old analog methods. Logistic Regression with Dependent variable: Loyalty of tourist visitor to Athens, which revealed the following statistically significant independent factors which influence positively loyalty to destination: Satisfaction from price of trip, Cleanness of Athens, Prices of products and Services, Historical Monuments and Natural Beauty. The sections on Image of Athens and Greece had Cronbach's Alpha coefficients 0,713 and 0,71 respectively. The second (EFA) about Image of Greece obtained during a visit revealed two factors (a) Historical Monuments and Culture (b) Natural Environment and Entertainment. (b) Historical Monuments, Weather and the Mediterranean cuisine and (c) Quality of city's accommodation and other services. The first (EFA) about Image of Athens revealed three factors: (a) The Natural Environment and Behavior of city's population towards tourists. Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA) of the Image of Athens and Image of Greece, obtained during a tourist's visit, respectively. The methods of analyzing the data were I. The questionnaire included sections about satisfaction from Athens, Image of Athens, Image of Greece, Loyalty to Athens as a destination, Word of Mouth for travelling to Athens, Demographics and questions about intention for repeat tourist visits to Athens. A sample survey was carried out among the members of a random sample of 461 tourists to Athens. The objective of the paper is to identify the predictive factors of a tourist's loyalty to the tourist destination of the capital of Greece, Athens. Therefore, the findings are important for city managers in order to be able to take actions which increase the loyalty to, and competitiveness of, the city compared to other similar destinations with heritage sites. In addition, the following areas for improvement have been identified: improvement of the information about the destination, improvement of waiting times and the professionalization of specialized tour guides at heritage sites. In the case of Córdoba, the research has proven that visitor loyalty depends on visitor satisfaction with the destination, which depends on the perceived quality and value of the visit. Includes their expectations for the trip, expected quality of the destination, satisfaction with the destination, and how these affect visitor loyalty to the city, because it is important to get the visitor to recommend, and return to, the destination. The management of any World Heritage City needs to know about the visitors’ experience at the destination, which A questionnaire was given to a sample of 428 tourists who visited the heritage sites in Córdoba. This study used the SPSS AMOS software with a model of structural equations to evaluate the proposed hypotheses. The aim of this research is to study visitor loyalty at a destination with heritage sites and to use the results to improve the competitiveness of the destination. |
